A landmark destination in the ancient Spice Trail, Sri Lanka is bursting with wonder. It is blessed with a rich culture and a recorded civilization that spans as far back as 380 BC.

Spices, sapphires and elephants have been synonymous for centuries with Sri Lanka, previously known as Ceylon. The unique location of the island in the Indian Ocean once served as a hub for trading: aromatic cinnamon (the best in the world), cardamom, nutmeg and pepper were plentiful and the natural sparkle of gems with their multitude of hues, iconic to their colorful land, was amongst the natural exports. This resulted in the island being called the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean".

ITINERARY

Day 01 Airport (CMB) Colombo

• Welcome at Bandaranayke International Airport (CMB) and transfer to Colombo.
• Check in at The Galle Face Hotel in Colombo and rest of the day, relax at the hotel.
• Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02 Colombo – Sigiriya (Breakfast & Dinner)

• After breakfast, proceed to Sigiriya via Pinnawala.
• En-route visit, The Millenium Elephant Foundation in Pinnawala (approx. visit – 2 hours).
• Afterwards, check in at The Water Garden Hotel in Sigiriya and rest of the day, relax.
• Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 03 Sigiriya (Breakfast, Dinner)

• After breakfast, morning visit to Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
• Visit and climb to the Sigiriya Lion Rock, approx. visit time – 3 hours.
• Afterwards, back to the hotel and relax.
• Late afternoon, enjoy wildlife Jeep Safari at Minneriya, Kaudulla or Eco National Park.
• Evening, back to the Hotel and rest of the day, relax.
• Enjoy a romantic dinner at The Water Garden Hotel.

Day 04 Sigiriya – Dambulla – Kandy (Breakfast, Dinner)

• After breakfast, proceed to Kandy via Dambulla.
• Check in at The Kandy House Hotel in Kandy and rest of the day, relax at the hotel.
• Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 05 Kandy – Perdeniya – Kandy (Breakfast, Dinner)

• After breakfast, morning proceed to Peradeniya for the Royal Botanical Garden visit.
• Afternoon, engage in a city tour of Kandy including the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.
• Evening back to Kandy House Hotel, and rest of the day relax.
• Dinner and overnights stay.

Day 06 Kandy – Hatton – Tientsin/Bogawantalawa (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

• After breakfast, proceed to Kandy railway station and enjoy a panoramic train journey from Kandy to Hatton station.
• Arrive at Hatton station and then proceed to Tientsin/Bogawantalawa.
• Check in at the Tientsin-Bungalow by Ceylon Tea Trails and rest of the day, relax.
• Enjoy a late lunch at The Tientsin Bungalow.
• Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 07 Tientsin/Bogawantalawa (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

• After breakfast, morning enjoy a Tea Experience Tour including a Tea Factory visit.
• Afterwards, back to the hotel and relax.
• Enjoy a lunch at the hotel.
• Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 08 Tientsin/Bogawantalawa – Kalutara (Breakfast, Dinner)

• After breakfast, proceed to Kalutara.
• Check in at The Anantara Kalutara Resort & Spa and the rest of the day, relax.
• Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 09 Kalutara (Breakfast, Dinner)

• After breakfast, full day relax, at your own arrangement.
• Enjoy and romantic candlelit dinner at the hotel.

Day 10 Kalutara – Airport (CMB) (Breakfast)

• After breakfast, transfer to Colombo airport for your departure flight.

The ETA requirement is applicable to all nationalities except nationals of the Republic of Maldives, the Republic of Singapore and the Republic of Seychelles, who on the basis of reciprocity, are exempt from this requirement.

The objective of the Sri Lankan visa is to facilitate the legal entry of non-Sri Lankans into Sri Lanka and to regulate the period and conditions governing their stay.

The competent authority for issuing Sri Lankan visas is the Department of Immigration and Emigration. On behalf of the Department of Immigration and Emigration, Sri Lanka diplomatic missions abroad have been authorized to issue visas.

What are the general eligibility requirements for Sri Lankan visas?

Sri Lanka Immigration and Emigration may issue a visa to you if:

• It is satisfied that you are suitable to enter Sri Lanka.
• It approves the purpose for which you are entering Sri Lanka.
• You hold a passport valid for a minimum period of six months from the date you arrive in Sri Lanka.
• It is satisfied that you have adequate funds for your stay in Sri Lanka and for the payment of your return passage to the country which issued your passport.
• You are in possession of a return air ticket to the country of domicile or a visa to the next country of destination.
