Dining and Entertainment
Abu Dhabi International Airport offers much more than just an extensive Duty Free shop, as many travellers have found. There is a wide range of Food & Beverage outlets within the main concourse that are open to visitors to the International Airport.
The new Café Cappuccino, which has been installed near to the check-in counters, is ideal for passengers who are traveling and are awaitingtheir boarding time. The Café Cappuccino sells snacks such as sandwiches and filled croissants along with teas & coffees and soft drinks.
Another new coffee shop, the Café Espresso, has been installed in the Arrivals area of Abu Dhabi International Airport, right next to the Arrivals gate. This location is ideal for people who are awaiting the arrival of their guests, where they can wait in comfort and even purchase a bunch of flowers with which to greet their guest.
The Oasis café is located in the center of the Duty Free shopping complex, and offers full meals as well as snacks to transit passengers, everything from a sandwich to a fillet steak is available here. Many airlines offer meals to their transit passengers in the Oasis restaurant, and the restaurant’s comprehensive menu makes it a great favourite with travellers.
Transit passengers can also use the five-star restaurant in the Airport hotel complex, as well as departing passengers who are travelling through Golden Class. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The items for all the Food & Beverage outlets are provided by the award-winning Inflight Catering unit, where all food is freshly prepared on a daily basis, in contrast with many of the world’s international airports.
Abu Dhabi International Airport has introduced three new coffee shops under the international brand Café Ritazza.
A new 83-seat coffee shop on the upper level of the Duty Free shopping complex has been open since December and has been very successful, achieving more than double the expected sales.
The second Café Ritazza has been opened in the landside area of the airport on the upper level next to the bank and post office, while the third outlet is in the landside mezzanine area near to the main airport entrance.
Café Ritazza is open 24 hours a day and offers a wide range of flavored coffees, teas, fresh juices and beverages as well as cakes, pastries, sandwiches and baguettes all produced at the in-house bakery. With an open and accessible style, the Café Ritazza is a welcome addition to the Duty Free area, offering a relaxed dining atmosphere.
Abu Dhabi Duty Free’s Piano Bar on the mezzanine level of the shopping complex is proving to be very popular with the travelling public. The piano bar is a highly stylish bar featuring a full size piano, and decorated in black and white. The bar serves caviar, canapes and champagne and vodka as well as a full range of standard beverages. Prices are very reasonable with a full plate of luxury smoked salmon canapes along with a glass of bubbly set at around US$19. In a new departure, the piano bar also retails smoked salmon and caviar directly to the public. The piano bar is open from 4.00 p.m. until 4.00 a.m. daily.
Mohamed Mounib, Managing Director of ADDF, says “the piano bar is a unique concept which has never been seen before in duty free retailing in this part of the world. It is proving to be very successful as it offers a very different way to spend your time waiting for the departure of your flight. The Piano bar complements the World of Luxury shop and the World of Cigar shop, offering exclusivity and pampering within the airport environment."
Abu Dhabi Duty Free has introduced a new food cart on the upper level of its shopping complex to provide a choice of snacks to travellers before or after their journeys.
