TIME TRAVEL TO CAPPADOCIA, TURKEY

The ancient city made of rocks!

Let’s begin.

The region was formed as a result of the volcanic eruptions from Mount Erciyes, Mount Hasan and Mount Melendiz, covering the whole countryside with layer of layers of thick tuff. It was dramatically chaotic and no one can ever live on such state. Many years passed, with the wind and rain worked together, the rocks then softens – carving out amazing gorges making unique lunar landscapes and spectacular rock formations that we can see until this time.

Cappadocia is in the central Anatolian region of Turkey that means “the land of beautiful horses”. The most famous towns are Urgup, Goreme, Uchisar and Guzelyurt. Furthermore, Ihlara Valley is more famous on trekking activity.

BEST TIME TO VISIT: The best time to explore Cappadocia is from the end of April to June; from mid-September to October as these months, the days are warm, the nights are cool and there is little chance of rain. First few weeks of April are not suitable for Hot Air Ballooning, as winds are strong and can be dangerous.
