Day 1: Johannesburg — Cape Town (by air)
In Johannesburg, you will be assisted to the domestic departure hall for your flight to Cape Town, where on arrival you collect your rental car. After your hotel check-in, visit the many shops and restaurants at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 2: Cape Town
Plan a trip to Table Mountain by cable car for spectacular coastal views. You can also drive to Cape Point or to Constantia. Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 3: Cape Town — Stellenbosch (45 kilometres)
Drive to the picturesque town of Stellenbosch. After checking in to your hotel, visit the main street lined with interesting shops or call in at a local wine estate. Overnight in Stellenbosch.

Days 4: Stellenbosch and surrounds
Drive to Franschhoek or Paarl to visit an estate for a cellar tour. Overnight in Stellenbosch.

Day 5: Stellenbosch — Cape Town (45 kilometres) — Johannesburg (by air)
Return your car at Cape Town International Airport in time for your flight to Johannesburg, where you will be met and assisted with collection of your rental car. An excellent choice of entertainment, shopping and dining awaits you during your overnight stay in Johannesburg.

Day 6: Johannesburg
Take advantage of the plentiful shopping opportunities in Rosebank with its shopping malls, flea markets, cafés, restaurants and bars. Overnight in Johannesburg.

Day 7: Johannesburg
A morning at your leisure before driving to Johannesburg International Airport to return your rental car and board your onward flight.

The Garden Route, stretching from Mossel Bay to Port Elizabeth, is one of the world’s most scenic journeys, taking you through amazingly varied landscapes of soaring cliffs, wide beaches, rocky coves, thick forest, tranquil lakes and rugged mountains.

Day 1: Johannesburg — Cape Town (by air)
In Johannesburg, you will be assisted to the domestic terminal for your flight to Cape Town, where on arrival you collect your rental car and drive to your hotel. After check-in, visit the lively Waterfront with its shops, cafés and restaurants. Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 2: Cape Town
Visit Table Mountain, drive to Cape Point, or tour the immensely beautiful wineland areas of Constantia, Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl. Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 3: Cape Town — Oudtshoorn (532 kilometres)
Travel to Oudtshoorn, where you can visit an ostrich farm and watch the birds race. The fascinating ice formations in nearby Cango Caves make an interesting stop. Overnight in Oudtshoorn.

Day 4: Oudtshoorn — Knysna (150 kilometres)
Depart via George for the quaint village of Knysna. Its waterfront offers interesting shops and restaurants serving delicious Knysna oysters. Overnight in Knysna.

Day 5: Knysna — Plettenberg Bay (32 kilometres)
The Featherbed Nature Reserve, which contains small buck and abundant bird life is accessible only by ferry. Take a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head. Overnight in Plettenberg Bay.

Day 6: Plettenberg Bay
Take a cruise to see dolphins and whales, visit Monkeyland Sanctuary, or try water sports at Keurbooms. Overnight in Plettenberg Bay.

Day 7: Plettenberg Bay — Port Elizabeth (230 kilometres)
Drive through picturesque scenery stopping at the famous Storms River Bridge in Tsitsikamma National Park. Arrive at Port Elizabeth for overnight.

Day 8: Port Elizabeth — Johannesburg (by air)
Return your rental car in Port Elizabeth and fly to Johannesburg. Collect your rental car on arrival in Johannesburg. Rosebank offers fantastic shopping and entertainment with shopping malls, restaurants, bars and cafés. Overnight in Johannesburg.

Day 9: Johannesburg
Return your rental car to Johannesburg International Airport in time for your onward flight.

Day 2: Cape Town and surrounds (230 kilometres)
Excursion to the picturesque Cape winelands, with wine-tasting at two well-known estates in Paarl and Stellenbosch.

Day 3: Cape Town and surrounds (200 kilometres)
A full day tour to experience the rugged beauty of Cape Peninsula. Stop at Boulders Beach to see the endearing penguins, and drive through the quaint naval village of Simon’s Town.

Day 4: Cape Town — Oudtshoorn (532 kilometres)
Travel through scenic landscapes of the Karoo to Oudtshoorn where you visit Cango Caves to marvel at the underground icy formations.

Day 5: Oudtshoorn — Knysna (150 kilometres)
Tour an ostrich farm before continuing your journey by steam train through the scenic countryside between George and Knysna (except May to August where an ostrich farm lunch is served instead).

Day 6: Knysna and surrounds (30 kilometres)
Cruise the vast Knysna lagoon and visit Featherbed Nature Reserve. Afternoon at leisure to discover Knysna’s excellent art galleries and craft shops.

Day 7: Knysna — Port Elizabeth (260 kilometres) — Durban (by air)
Follow the coast road past the lovely Tsitsikamma Forest to Port Elizabeth, where you board your flight to Durban.

Day 8: Durban — Zululand (363 kilometres)
Travel through lush coastal scenery to the Zulu kingdom. See Zulu dancers in the cultural village, sample traditional Zulu beer and enjoy a hearty lunch before you check in to your hotel.

Day 9: Zululand — Swaziland (475 kilometres)
Enjoy a motor launch cruise on Lake St Lucia, a World Heritage Site set amidst breathtaking scenery, before visiting a Swazi candle factory in the Kingdom of Swaziland.

Day 10: Swaziland — Kruger National Park (256 kilometres)
Visit a famous glass works factory before travelling on to Kruger National Park, arriving in time for a welcome sundowner as dusk falls across the African bush.

Day 11: Kruger National Park (150 kilometres)
Head out in open safari vehicles for a full day safari in search of wildlife, with a good chance of seeing the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino.

Day 12: Kruger National Park — Pilgrim’s Rest (195 kilometres)
Today travel on to Pilgrim’s Rest, famed for its gold rush past. The high veld comes to a sudden end at the Drakensberg escarpment, and the views from God’s Window and above the Blyde River Canyon are amongst the most spectacular in South Africa.

Day 13: Pilgrim’s Rest — Johannesburg (456 kilometres)
Visit a diamond mine, before driving to the capital, Pretoria, and on to Johannesburg for an overnight stay.

Day 14: Johannesburg
Morning at leisure, in Johannesburg for superb shopping opportunities before your transfer to Johannesburg International Airport for your onward flight.
