Pick up your rental car at Munich International Airport and
head to your hotel before exploring quaint Marienplatz and
perhaps taking a drink at Hofbräuhaus. Overnight in Munich.
Day 2: Munich —
Salzburg (215 kilometres)
Depart for Salzburg via Herrenchiemsee, where you can cruise
on the lake and visit the lovely castle. Continue via Kings
Lake with its magnificent mountain panoramas. Overnight in

Walk around ancient, cobblestone streets, visit Mozart’s
birthplace, sample local sweets, or relax in one of the traditional

Day 4: Salzburg —

Drive through superb scenery to Vienna, pausing at Melk where
you can take a cruise on the Danube. Overnight in Vienna.

Vienna is full of history, style and splendid architecture.
Stroll through the town centre with its imperial palaces,
lovely cathedral and, of course, the elegant shops on Kärtnerstrasse.

Day 6: Vienna —
Munich (440 kilometres)
Drive to Munich enjoying the Alpine landscapes en route. Overnight
in Munich.
Day 7: Munich
We recommend a visit to King Ludwig II’s fairy tale
castle at Neuschwanstein, and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where
you can travel by rope-railway to the peak of Zugspitze, Germany’s
highest mountain.
Day 8: Munich
Return your car in time for your onward flight.
