There
are four VIP lounges at Abu Dhabi International Airport:
the Gulf Air First Class lounge, the main lounge for
Gulf Air’s Business Class and Frequent Flyer
programme members, as well as Golden Class passengers,
a ‘snoozing’ lounge offering comfy reclining
seats in a slightly more subdued atmosphere, and the
Al Ghazlan lounge for all remaining airlines’
First and Business Class passengers.The main lounge
also includes the world’s first in-lounge duty
free shop, a 24-hour duty free facility with a carefully
selected range of the top selling items in all main
categories, including audio/video, watches, souvenirs,
liquor and tobacco, perfume, confectionery, toys,
mobile telephones, cameras and more.
The lounge has a dedicated business centre facility
with three laptop stations offering high speed ADSL
internet connection, photocopier, fax, and full secretarial
service. The business centre also has a wireless mobile
internet facility so that the centre’s laptops
can be taken out into the lounge as required.The Abu
Dhabi Airport hotel also offers a children’s
playroom, a fully equipped health club with sauna,
jacuzzi and gymnasium, laundry facilities, mosque,
24-hour room service, a 24-hour lounge bar and a five
star restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner
to travelers. Of the passengers using the VIP lounges
at Abu Dhabi Airport hotel, 25% are European, 25%
Arab, 20% Far Eastern and 30% other nationalities.
The hotel rooms are mostly used by passengers in transit
or waiting for connecting or delayed flights. 30%
are First and Business class passengers, and 70% economy,
and mostly they fall into the age range of 30-55.
