HOTEL DESCRIPTION
This
elegant building, with its stunning gardens, opened in 1992 as
a hotel after it had been expanded to incorporate additional poolside
accommodation. Decorated in a traditional Portuguese style, it
features marble stucco, carved wood and richly patterned azulejos
tiles.
Lapa Palace is on a hill overlooking the Tagus River, and is set
amid tranquil gardens dotted with ornamental fountains and streams.
It is surrounded by stately embassy buildings close to the centre
of Lisbon, with its 19th-century squares and belvederes, and the
hotel is just a short distance from five golf courses and a white
sandy beach.

Lapa
Palace has 109 guest rooms, including 13 Garden view rooms, 28
Pool & Garden view rooms, 32 City/River/Garden view and Villa
rooms, 10 Palace rooms, 8 Deluxe rooms, 8 Junior Suites, 5 Suites,
3 Deluxe Suites, 1 Royal Suite and 1 Tower Room. All rooms are
fully equipped, many of them with magnificent views over the River
Tagus and Lisbon. Each guest room in the Palace Wing is unique,
with its own individual Portuguese style, from 18th-century classical
to art deco.

HOTEL FACILITIES AND AMENITIES
RESTAURANT & BAR: The
gastronomic Ristorante Hotel Cipriani offers fine Italian cuisine.
Open daily for lunch from 12:30 pm until 3:00 pm and for dinner
from 7:30 pm until 10:30 pm.
The bright, glass-panelled Rio Tejo Bar is one of the most beautiful
retreats in the city, ideal for a business meeting or for an informal
drink on the terrace overlooking the Tagus River. It has indoor
and outdoor seating and is open from 10:30 am until 1:30 am.
The
poolside Pavilhão Restaurant and Bar serves alfresco light
snacks and meals during the summer, with a barbecue and live music
until midnight on Wednesdays.
The
hotel boasts a fine wine list with a careful choice of national
vintages, and a coffee list offering tastes and aromas from all
over the world. Room service is available 24 hours a day, with
a complete Lunch & Dinner menu, as well as a special children's
menu.
FACILITIES: Lapa
Palace is the only hotel in Lisbon to offer a swimming pool set
within tranquil gardens. There is also an indoor, heated swimming
pool, and five golf courses and tennis facilities nearby.
