LOCATION: Nestled
in the beautiful countryside, the Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica,
immediately envelopes guests with its aura of tranquility and
serenity. Located 50 kilometers from the Airport, the hotel hosted
the first Secretary-General of the United Nations Trygve Lie.
Impressively set in a hillside location, Holmenkollen Park Hotel
Rica affords guests a magnificent view of the City of Oslo from
an altitude of 350 meters. The hotel is surrounded by open spaces
and hills next to the famous Holmenkollen Ski Arena.

recently refurbished rooms, which include 11 suites and an exclusive
wing which contains 35 rooms, comprises the hotel's accomodations.
Divided into Standard, Superior, Deluxe and Suites, the rooms
nevertheless share amenities which include a mini-bar, digital
TV, Internet access, hairdryer and trouser press. There is also
an in-room safe in most rooms.
The
hotel's 111 Standard rooms, most designed with a distinct Holmenkollen
look, carry basic amenities while affording guests interesting
views of the surrounding landscape. Bed configurations available
are 79 singles and 32 doubles.

Superior rooms, which come in eight singles and 70 doubles, have
a panoramic view of Oslo and Nordmarka just outside the window.
Located in the exclusive wing of the hotel are its Deluxe, Norweigan-style
rooms, made up of 21 double rooms and equipped with a bathroom
and bathtub, separate shower and toilet. A telephone, computer
connection and fax line is also provided.
Aside from providing spectacular views, a number of the hotel's
11 Suites have their own sauna or jacuzzi. Guests of the large
suite will delight in the dining room, fireplace, conference room,
two bedrooms, two bathrooms, four toilets and a separate kitchen.
Almost half of the hotel's accomodations are non-smoking and there
are two single rooms especially for physically-challenged people.
RESTAURANT: For
a taste of Norweigan cuisine as well as international dishes,
the restaurants Gallery and De Fem Stuer is at the guests'
disposal, with the first being the hotel's largest restaurant
with a seating capacity of 250 people and the second featuring
art works and pieces which add to its classic ambiance.
The Bokcafeen is a smaller restaurant which serves light meals
and is more suited for parties of up to 40 people while the
bar (Peisestuen) is the ideal meeting place, with a tiled
fireplace, dance hall and magnificent views of sunsets and
the starlit sky. |
