The Amsterdam American Hotel is the best located hotel in Amsterdam in the middle of the Leidseplein, the famous square with great restaurants, bars and theatres, and a footstep away from the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and the beautiful Vondel Park. Around the corner,Amsterdam's well-known fashion shopping streets, PC Hooftstraat and Leidsestraat, can be explored.Built in 1900, the Amsterdam American Hotel is a listed art nouveau monument, and some architectural features can be traced back in the famous Café Américain and guest rooms.
The hotel has adopted a modern lifestyle philosophy to offer you a truly unique stay. You are invited to enjoy your stay with all your senses. The hotel has six floors with a total of 175 guest rooms, of which 15 are Junior Suites and 36 are Deluxe rooms and 124 Classic American rooms. Most of which have canal or Leidseplein views or a balcony. As from January 2008 all the guest rooms are non-smoking. |

The Amsterdam American Hotel offers 175 Classic American rooms, Deluxe American rooms and Junior Suites. The hotel is an important example of architectural art nouveau and has been a listed building since 1977. Its outer graciousness extends to the guest rooms, which still feature original stained-glass windows and vanities lined with an elegant granite surface. Most hotel guest rooms were renovated in the winter season. The guest room is a key component of the hotel lodging or vacation experience, affording the travellers privacy and a comfortable night's rest. Everything is done to ensure cleanliness, attractiveness, proper maintenance and safety. |
